Following Directions Being able to understand and follow the directions is a skill that is needed and used throughout life as your child prepares for grade school and beyond. Encouraging kids to make their own creative choices along the way (while still complying to the directions) can help foster their imagination too. 2. Focus and Concentration While crafting, your preschooler learns how to focus, concentrate and minimize distractions while mastering the use of scissors, glue and other crafting materials.
